NTA to Announce CSIR NET July 2024 Results and Cut-off This Week

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to release the results and cut-off marks for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (Joint CSIR UGC-NET) in July 2024 later this week. The examination was conducted on July 25th, 26th, and 27th across 348 centers in 187 cities, with 2,25,335 candidates participating in the Computer-Based Test (CBT).

How to Check the Results:

Once the results are announced, candidates can access and download their scorecards from the official website. Follow these steps:

1. Visit the official CSIR NET website: csirnet.nta.ac.in.

2. Click the Joint CSIR UGC-NET Result 2024 link on the homepage.

3. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth.

4. Submit the details to view your result.

5. Download and save the scorecard for future reference.

Post-Result Process:

Successful candidates will receive their CSIR NET eligibility certificates and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Award Letters from NTA. This exam is crucial for determining eligibility for Junior Research Fellowships, Assistant Professor positions, and Ph.D. admissions in Indian universities and colleges, provided the candidates meet the UGC’s criteria.

Answer Key Challenge Procedure:

Candidates who were dissatisfied with the provisional answer key had the opportunity to challenge it online by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question. The process involved:

1. Logging into the NTA website.

2. Viewing the question paper and selecting the questions to challenge.

3. Submit supporting documents if necessary.

A panel of subject experts will review all challenges. Only challenges submitted through the prescribed link, with proper justification, and within the stipulated time will be considered. The final Answer key, reflecting any necessary revisions, will be used to prepare the final results.

Merit List and Cut-off Determination:

The merit list will be determined based on candidates' overall performance across all parts of the exam. There will be no separate cut-offs for individual sections (Part A, B & C). For multi-shift exams, the NTA Score (percentile) will be used to ensure fairness:

• Normalization Procedure: Raw marks obtained by candidates across different shifts will be converted to NTA Scores (percentiles). The lowest percentile among different shifts will set the eligibility cut-off for that category.

Example: If a 40% score corresponds to a Percentile Score of 78 in Shift 1 and 79 in Shift 2, then candidates with Percentile Scores equal to or above 78 in both shifts will be eligible in the General Category. This principle will apply to all categories.

The results will be declared in percentile format, along with the actual marks obtained by each candidate, which can be used for Ph.D. admissions.

Contact Information:

For further clarification, candidates can contact the NTA helpline at +91-11-40759000 or email at csirnet@nta.ac.in.

Stay tuned for the exact date and time of the result announcement.
